Tamanna Mostafa
Tamanna (2001-2002 session) completed her BA (hons) and MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT (English Language Teaching) with a First class in both BA (First class First) and MA (First class Second). After working for a year at BRAC University as a Lecturer (Dept of English and Humanities), she moved to the USA in 2009 and completed her MA in TESOL (Teaching Speakers of Other Languages) from Central Michigan University. She spent a few years teaching ESL (English as Second Language) at Michigan State University. Then she started pursuing her PhD degree in applied linguistics at Georgia State University from 2016. During the course of her PhD, she published multiple research papers in renowned journals such as Journal of Second Language Writing, System, Language Awareness, and International Journal of Applied Linguistics. Her PhD dissertation focused on quantitative analysis of monologic and dialogic spoken data. Currently, she is working as a Language Engineer at Amazon and helping Alexa understand human language better!
