Nabila Murshed LPC

Nabila Murshed graduated from the English department of Dhaka University in the mid-eighties with a BA (Hons). She achieved a second class first position in the examination. Then she went to Rutgers State University and  to Immaculata University, in the U.S.A to study Counseling Psychology. She made the dean’s list and was initiated in Beta Mu, an honor society for academic achievement.  She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2007. She practices in Pennsylvania. According to a 2015 survey 86% of counselors are Caucasian and 5% are Asian Americans in the States.

Nabila’s work history includes doing community service for fourteen years to serve patients with severe and persistent mental illness. In 2005, she received a certificate of excellence as the best therapist by the outpatient director of the clinic she was working at.. She is a trained DBT, trauma and substance use therapist.After more than two decades of experience Nabila has recognized that  listening, validating and supporting need to be established first between the patient and counselor, before any change can occur.
Nabila’s hobbies include sleeping, listening to music, Facebooking, shopping and thinking.
Nabila’s notable memories include the life on campus itself, building lifelong connections with professors and friends.
