Fayeza Hasanat is a teacher, creative writer, and translator. After teaching several years at the Department of English, University of Dhaka, she joined and is currently affiliated with the English Department of the University of Central Florida. After her graduation from the English Department of the University of Dhaka, she completed her MA and PhD from the University of Florida as a Fulbright Scholar. Her publications include Nawab Faizunnesa’s Rupjalal: Translation and Commentary (Brill Publishers, 2009) and A War Heroine I Speak (translation of Neelima Ibrahim’s Ami Birangana Bolchi, Bangla Academy, 2017). Her debut short story collection The Bird Catcher and Other stories (2018) was simultaneously published from the US and Bangladesh.
